Workers go on strike in South Africa

More than one million public sector workers in south Africa have gone on strike due to a dispute about pay. Union leaders are demanding more than double the inflation rate, they are requiring 8.6% pay rise. There have been reports that scuffles have taken place at schools and hospitals due to the strike. This strike has now put pressure on President Jacob Zuma ruling party ANC to appease it’s union allies.
