Fences has been nominated for just about every award this year and is the film everyone’s talking about. Starring Hollywood heavyweights Denzel Washington and Viola Davis who has won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a SAG award for her performance as Rose, Troy’s (Denzel) wife. Fences tells the story of Troy Maxson, a mid-century Pittsburgh sanitation worker whose dreams of playing professional baseball were crushed because he was too old when the major leagues began admitting black players. Now, he tries to be a good husband and father, but his lost dream of glory eats at him, and causes him to make a decision that threatens to tear his family apart. Fences is directed by Denzel Washington from a screenplay by August Wilson, adapted from Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play.
We are giving away two pairs of tickets to a special screening at Paramount’s headquarters in London on 22nd February at 7pm, including food and drink.
