Rihanna responds to another racist attack

It hasn’t been a great couple of days for Bajan superstar Rihanna. As Pride reported, the past weekend she was verbally assaulted by a racist hotel guest in Portugal. Over in the Netherlands, Dutch magazine ‘Jackie’ ran an article on the singer entitled ‘De N***abitch’

[Translated] “She has street cred, she has a ghetto ass and she has a golden throat. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate n***abitch and displays that gladly, and for her that means: what’s on can come off. If that means she’ll be on stage half naked, then so be it.”

As outrage grew at the publications description and choice of language to describe RihRih, editor Eva Hoenke took to Twitter to apologise.

“Two things we learned. 1: no bad jokes in the cover page. 2. do not act as if a bad joke is good. Sorry, guys. My bad.”

In the next issue will be a correction. I can tell you that it was never our intention to offend anyone.”

By this point however, the ‘We Found Love’ singer had already caught wind of the story and took to Twitter to blast the EIC for the racial slur,

“@evajackie I hope u can read English, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000′s of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That’s your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past!

“You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense…”N—A B—H”?!….Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you…F–K YOU!!!”

We don’t know how calling anyone a n***a b***h could ever be taken as a joke but we can report that the magazine has since taken to Facebook to issue an apology while the editor in question has resigned from her post after 8 years at Jackie magazine.

Don’t mess with Rihanna eh?
