New Music Friday – Samm Henshaw, House Gospel Choir and more!

Happy weekend, loyal Pride readers! To kick yours off the right way, here’s a fresh New Music Friday for your listening and viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

SAMM HENSHAW – ‘THE WORLD IS MINE’

Up and coming Nigerian-British, London-born singer-songwriter Samm Henshaw has been inspired by music since he was young. With his love for all things music and playing instruments, it was only to be expected for him to be deemed as the ‘One to watch’ by sources as big as YouTube – and Pride, ourselves! Henshaw’s new single, The World is Mine, was 1Xtras ‘Record of The Week’ due to its upbeat, cultivating rhythms which catch you right from the beginning. Having recently released the music video which is just as enticing as the song with its inception-like twists of worlds being in worlds and sinister themes – this is one you won’t want to miss.

HOUSE GOSPEL CHOIR – ‘SALVATION’

The usual response to gospel music is to sway from side-to-side with your hands rose high praising the lord himself – but not this time, did somebody say house music?! House Gospel Choir’s ‘Salvation’ will have you embracing their disco-inspired house beats ready to shake what your momma’ gave ya’! (Respectfully, of course).

Collaborating with ‘Adelphi Music Factory’ to produce this fun and frolicking gospel house tune, it will have you giving thanks and blessings while questioning in amazement just how they managed to combine house music and gospel together – an impressive feat!

A.T – ‘KUMBAYA’

Taking the camp-fire favourite ‘Kumbaya’ out of the woods and straight into the urban landscape, Nigeria-born, London-raised A.T is the latest new artist to stake a claim in the afro-beat scene. With his new single being produced by A.T himself, with mixing duties from Graeme Baldwin, ‘Kumbaya’ is one to download this weekend; its African-inspired beats are nicely complemented by A.T’s deep rhythmic voice. Add to your playlist for something new to dance to!

YORE – ‘CHASING DAYLIGHT’

Having travelled between LA and Europe for musical inspiration and to connect with places in nostalgic ways, Yore aspires for his listeners to see the beauty in things that are uncertain; to have the hair on their arms raised to a stand, and to deeply feel something through his soulful music. Yore’s’ new single ‘Chasing Daylight’ does not disappoint after following his earlier release, ‘Desperate Measures’ – also unique but melancholic and grasping. If you like your music with depth and passion, Yore’s music is some to follow.

SEAN PAUL – ‘WHEN IT COMES TO YOU’

Since we’re officially in September, it’s safe to say that Summer 2019 is over – boo! But our famously known dancehall legend, Sean Paul, is back and better with another hit ready to keep you in the summer lovin’ mood. His new hit single, ‘When It Comes To You’, will have you feeling warm and ready to two-step, no matter what the weather’s looking like outside.

The video shows Paul surrounded by beautiful women – but he can only see one when it comes to ‘her’. What a sweetheart…
