New Music Fridays – Ray BLK, WSTRN and More!

Happy weekend, Pride readers! To kick you off in style, here is another New Music Friday for your listening and viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Ray BLK – Empress

Hot off the press from Ray BLK is the empowering new single, ‘Empress’. The video sees Ray BLK in a cinema theatre with women of all races and colours. The video concept is simple, yet delivers a powerful message to women and girls: do not settle for less when it comes to men, know your worth and realise that you deserve the best. Empress is a meaningful female empowerment anthem, which hopefully will resonate with a lot of people and become a big hit.

WSTRN – Sharna

Sharna, another dancehall filled offering from the duo, is an ode to a love interest. The opening of the song begins with a pleasant background of a Kenyan beach with picturesque white sand and turquoise sea, and then images of a Kenyan city skyline. This song is sure to have you dancing and singing along all through way autumn.

MO – Way Down

MO’s latest song begins with a house type beat, then comes an East Asian style flute playing in the background, then the two beats mixed together makes for an infectious beat that will soon have you bopping you head. It’s a simple yet catchy song about wanted to spend time with your loved one. There’s no video yet but I’m sure when it does drop, it will be a good one.

Silk City, Dua Lipa – Electricity ft. Diplo, Mark Robson

This new offering from Dua Lipa is a bit of an odd one as there’s no singing until 2.45 minutes into the video, and even then it’s short but sweet, however this is compensated by great dance sequences. The video starts with Dua Lipa doing Flash Dance type choreography, and then with the help of backing dancers moves into an interpretative dance number, then next we see her freestyling in a warehouse rave dancing to a 90’s house type beat reminiscent of Robin S.
