Mandela outraged over war in Iraq

Nelson Mandela has always felt strongly when it comes to humanitarian efforts in Africa and elsewhere. So when the ex-president heard about Tony Blair’s decision  to go to war in Iraq he ‘breathed fire’ as a response. The former South-African president called Peter Hain (who was a part of Blair’s cabinet at the time) saying “A big mistake, Peter, a very big mistake. Why is Tony doing this after all his support for Africa? This will cause huge damage internationally”. Mandela was very betrayed by the deployment of British troops as he felt the work of the Blair government in Africa was ‘blown out f the water’. These statements come after Peter Hain’s new biography of the South African president, Mandela: The Story of a Universal Hero.
