London set to get a burst of Caribbean sunshine with CaribBe TV

Former Miss Jamaica Universe, April Jackson is introducing CaribBe TV to UK audiences. Available to consumers from the 29th September, CaribBe TV offers an exciting new development in programming. By launching the premier multi-media platform, viewers will be offered a wide variety of TV channels, streaming live and on-demand, direct from the Caribbean.

An established entrepreneur, April is perfectly placed to be ambassador and host of CaribBe TV. Passionate about staying true to her heritage and bridging the gap between the UK and the Caribbean; April aims to help facilitate the education of the wider world on the diverse cultures of the Caribbean. Utilising the technology of the platform, April hopes to share the culture of the Caribbean with those who wish to experience the Caribbean lifestyle, without having to leave the comfort of their homes or UK shores.

Speaking at the launch of CaribBe TV, April says “The timing for CaribBe TV is perfect as Caribbean culture continues to affect the world, be it through music, sports, entertainment and food. The opportunity to be a part of an organisation that connects the UK with the Caribbean through televised programming from various islands in the region is one that excites me.”

The Caribbean/West Indian community accounts for 12% of the overall population, in particular in metropolitan areas in the South East and Northern England, and is one of the longest settled communities in the UK. Despite the high number of first, second and third generation West Indians who call the UK home, there is still a distinct lack of quality TV programming from the Caribbean, unlike programming on offer for African and Asian communities.

CaribBe TV will broadcast the best of the region’s news, sports, current affairs and special events; comedy, family, music & entertainment, as well as Caribbean cooking, cultural, educational, fashion, lifestyle and travel programmes. Aimed at both the Caribbean/West Indian Diaspora in the UK and any other residents who appreciate Caribbean culture and aspire for a Caribbean lifestyle, CaribBe TV offers unrestricted access to subscribers for authentic viewing originating from the region.

CaribBe TV’s designated technology partners, Cloudio TV will ensure the secured distribution and quality delivery of all Caribbean channels and other audio-visual content that will be made available to customers through a wide variety of different devices and platforms.

David Vargas-Racero, CEO of Cloudio TV says “We are delighted and proud to partner with CaribBe TV, which is a perfect fit as part of our strategic plan to become the leading provider of ethnic and thematic television in the UK and Europe. Our main role is to offer the best quality viewing and customer experience of overseas content, in order to meet the high standards of the UK/European consumers.”
