Kelly kisses X Factor UK goodbye

In a move that we all saw coming, it’s finally been confirmed that former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland will not be returning to the show as a judge when the X Factor returns to our screens later this year.

The 31-year-old who was a hit with viewers during the audition process due to her sassy nature, catchy comebacks and tell-it-like-it-is approach appeared to be flustered by the demands the show put on her when the live shows came around. Commenting on her departure, the singer said: ” I love the UK and being part of the show last year. Mentoring the girls was such an incredible experience I will never forget.  I would like to thank Simon for the great opportunity and asking me to be a judge last season.” It is said that the star left on her own terms and elected to work on her music and solo career rather than return to the panel for another season.

Kelly’s departure means that at least one new face is guaranteed to the panel with Take That star Gary Barlow so far being the only judge locked in for the next series. It is thought that X Factor stalwart Louis Walsh and N-Dubz singer Tulisa are set to reprise their roles. As for who will join them, only time will tell.  Names like Katy Perry and Lily Allen are being bandied about but Tulisa has fuelled speculation about future hopefuls after revealing who she’d personally like to sit next to. “I used to watch X Factor before I got on the panel, so I always thought Dannii was great and I enjoyed watching her, so I’m sure we’d get along really well.”
What do you think? Will the show suffer due to Miss Rowland’s departure?
