50 Cent latest star to come out in support of Frank Ocean

Following Frank Ocean’s recent bisexual revelation, rapper 50 Cent has joined the rank of entertainers coming out to publicly support the star. Ocean opened up about his sexuality last week following questions over who some of the songs on his recently released Channel Orange album were aimed at. The singer penned an open letter on Tumblr explaining that his first love was in fact with a man.

50 Cent joined the likes of rap collective Odd Future (who have been heavily criticized for apparently homophobic lyrics) of which Ocean is a member, to denounce anyone who plans to treat Frank differently because of his honesty. The rapper told MTV UK: “Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot.” The rapper also added that he thought Ocean would open the door for other people in the industry to come out of the closet. Ocean’s fellow Odd Future member, Tyler the Creator also supported the star via Twitter joking that he would start singing in a bid to win over Ocean’s fans.

The announcement hasn’t seemed to affect Ocean’s sales figures as his debut album Channel Orange sits comfortably at number two on the iTunes chart following its release last week.
