Private farewell for Disco Queen Donna Summer

The funeral of the late and greatly missed Disco Queen, Donna Summer will be a private affair to be attended by only her family and close friends, reports her publicist.

Ending rumours of a public service in Tennessee later this month, Summer’s publicist Brian Edwards put the lies to rest and said in a statement on Friday following the death of the 63-year-old singer, that while her family appreciates all the support from fans and friends. the funeral will be private.

Most famous for her chart-topping Disco hits I Feel Love and Love to Love You Baby, Summer died last Thursday morning in Naples, Florida following on from a secret battle with lung cancer. The singer was not thought to have been a smoker: “Numerous factors can be attributed to the cause of cancer in general, but any details regarding the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of Ms Summer’s case will remain between her family and team of doctors,” said Edwards.
