My Little Blackbook

Songstress FLO (aka Floacist of Floetry) opens up her little book of secrets.

Caribbean Dream

Jamaica is my favourite holiday destination, because it is paradise, because it is home, because of the energy. When in Montego Bay I take some time at Dr’s Cave and possibly a moment at Margarittaville! The most incredible retreat and wellness centre is under construction at a blessed location on the coast. As soon as the incredible Esther Anderson completes her vision, it will be a place of healing.

Chef’s Table

My cousin, Gareth Stewart is the executive chef of the Nourish Group who are quite literally the benchmark of hospitality in New Zealand. He and his team are absolute geniuses of cuisine!!! Colours, textures and tastes that are quite literally out of this world! If ever you find yourself in New Zealand check out The Euro Bar and Restaurant you will be lifted!

Individuality

I love markets like The Spitalfields Market where you can find, enjoy and support new, independent and local designers. Rare Culture UK, Pieces by Keke, You Me We UK are some of the designers that have supported me also! It’s a two way street!

Culture Clash

My favourite cultural spot is definitely my FLO night at Rye Wax at the Bussey building in Peckham. Every first Tuesday of the month we open our spoken word vortex down there for a poetry event like no other! It’s a great environment, fresh food; a bar with fantastic staff, there’s even a proper vinyl record store on the premises for all vinyl junkies! Culture at it’s best! Together and interacting in energy!

Drink Up

I spend quite a lot of time at the Satay Bar on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton. I love the staff and the location holds a lot of memories. The Appleton Magic is my happy drink and the menu never disappoints!

Super Natural

Coconut oil and aloe vera gel are my go too in the hair department. I do my own hair. It’s one of my most enjoyable aspects of my second locing journey.
RnB

I spend more time on stages than I do in audiences, but that being said, I had a very nostalgic trip back to the Hammersmith Apollo to see Blackstreet and Keith Sweat a few years ago and it was awesome! Took me back to the late 80s/early 90s
