First comes album, then comes baby! Cardi B’s Big Weekend

Cardi B’s successful rise to fame over the past year had us all eager to hear her highly anticipated debut album – and on Friday the 6th of April, Invasion of Privacy was finally released! Happily for her, the album had already become certified Gold in the first 24 hours, making her the first female artist to achieve a Gold certified album on the day of its release.

Invasion of Privacy’s track list also includes her 6x multi-platinum hit ‘Bodak Yellow’, as well as collaborations with SZA, Chance the Rapper and Migos, to name a few. So far, Cardi – real name Belcalis Almanzar – has received nothing but glowing reviews from her fans and other musicians who congratulated her on all the success.

Kehlani, who features on ‘Ring’ posted her support saying: “You’re a sweet, special, hardworking woman, everything coming to you was rightfully earned and deserves nothing but the highest respect.”

Oprah Winfrey also displayed her support for Cardi B, when she posted a picture of herself, captioned: “Listening to that new Cardi album” to which Cardi responded in excitement and disbelief.

The following day Cardi later revealed that she had another cause for celebration, during her performance on Saturday Night Live – a bun in the oven!

After weeks of speculation her pregnancy was confirmed as the camera panned out to show a visible but small baby bump in her form fitting Christian Siriano white dress, while she was performing her new single ‘Be Careful’. The episode of Saturday Night Live was hosted by Black Panther’s very own Chadwick Boseman who occasionally channeled T’Challa.

Cardi B’s fiancé Offset took to social media to further confirm the exciting news, tweeting “Cardi and I look forward to our next chapter together”.

Congratulations!
