Black kids are more likely to test posItive and end up in hospital, UK researchers have found. Black kids were 1.12 more likely and mixed race kids were 1.14 more likely to to test positive for the virus than there white counterparts. And even worse there were more likely to remain in hospital longer while being treated. The Oxford university led study suggests a link between ethnicity and Covid and states that there are important implications for strategies to halt the pandemic such as increased access to tests for our community. The study involved the analysis of 2,576,353 health care records. It found that while 17.1% of white children were tested for Covid only 8.3% of black children had been.
