Highlights include World Premiere and Closing Night screening of Kibwe Tavares and Daniel Kaluuya’s THE KITCHEN, the first two episodes of TV series GRIME KIDS, gritty American drama EARTH MAMA, rapper-turned-filmmaker Baloji’s Cannes winning film OMEN, and Raven Jackson’s mesmerising feature debut ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT. Other notable films include THE SPECTRE OF BOKO HARAM, which explores how war looks like from a child’s perspective, and GOING TO MARS: THE NIKKI GIOVANNI PROJECT, which features the legacy of African-American poet and activist Nikki Giovanni. The LFF expanded programme also premieres COLORED, an augmented reality installation which tells the true story of 15-year-old Claudette Colvin, who fought segregation laws in 1950s America.

BFI London Film Festival runs from 4-15 October, tickets on sale from 12 September www.bfi.org.uk/lff
