 Terrence: sings the blues
The Iron Man actor has swapped movies for music with his forthcoming debut album. Terrence Howard talks to Cynthia Lawrence about his musical ambitions, hatred for rap music and quest to find true love.

We all know you as an actor. How did you get into music?
Singing is my first love. I come from a musical family. When I was a few years old, my mother would sing to me the Carpenters song “Rainy Days and Mondays”. I have four brothers, and she told me that none of them ever responded to music the way I did. My uncle played the guitar, and we would all sing Marvin Gaye songs and would have a party at least three times a month. That was my musical training.
